Sadly so many women’s self talk is negative and erodes their self-esteem. We spend so much time telling ourselves that we’re not good enough, smart enough, talented enough, or thin enough.
Our self-talk affects us in a very powerful way. If we think something is possible, we’re more likely to make the effort to achieve it. If we think it’s impossible, we won’t even bother trying.
Also our negative self talk has a physical impact on our bodies, effecting our blood pressure, muscle tension, temperature, breathing rate and heart rate, which makes us feel so much more anxious and stressed.
In contrast, when we experience positive thoughts, we flood our brains with endorphins, which helps us relax so we are more alert and centred. As a result, we’re far more likely to be confident, optimistic, and motivated to do what it takes to achieve our goals.
Pay attention to your self talk today and only say things to yourself that you would say to someone you love!
If you put all your focus on your words, actions and attitude, combined with 100% effort you will have amazing results.
If you also stop trying to control what you can't control, you will be unstoppable!
To achieve anything, especially a goal or dream, you need to take steps toward them. Actually you need to take daily steps towards them, as this is the only way to truly keep your focus & achieve what you want in life.
Here are 7 simple tips that if you put them into practice will help you take the steps to get things done!
Write down your goal
Write down the goal that is in your mind, as it is only a dream until it is in writing. This then becomes a statement of intent. The process of writing down your goal forces the subconscious to accept the commitment you have made to work towards your target. It has been suggested that you should read out your goals every morning to keep you focused throughout each day.
Set a deadline
Set a target date by which you will complete your goal. If your goal is a larger, more complicated goal, break it down into smaller steps & determine a deadline for each separate step. If you do not have an end in mind you will not focus on it’s completion.
Work on your mindset
Develop a positive approach to every aspect of your life, including your thoughts about how you will achieve your goals. Read inspirational books & believe in your own abilities.
Develop your skillset
It is very possible that a new goal will necessitate learning a new skill or will require some form of personal growth. Figure out what new knowledge you will need, or what new skills you will have to develop. Find the best source for gaining this knowledge & invest wisely to develop the skills you need.
Take the first step
It is important not to procrastinate. The moment when real action is required is often when many goals fall by the wayside. You don’t need to wait until everything is just right. Get started now & make adjustments as you go along. Take that first step. Remember the first step is always the hardest one to take.
Continue to completion
The path to the ultimate completion of your goal is unlikely to be a straight and simple one. Do not give up when you encounter the first or any subsequent obstacles. Always keep the end result in focus, maintain your excitement & enthusiasm, & keep moving forward. See each difficulty you meet as an opportunity for learning and growth.
When you complete your goal it is important to reward yourself for this achievement. Look back over your accomplishments & enjoy the satisfaction that success brings. This will train the subconscious mind to focus on activities that produce successful results. It is not just about the end result, it is also about growth & who you become. Once you have enjoyed your reward, set your next goal, making it bigger & more challenging than the last.
OMG it is February already! I feel as February is the month where we celebrate Valentine's Day, it is a good time to remind you to love yourself first.
You are amazing and you deserve your love. Also how can you expect anyone to love you if you do not love yourself.
If you are someone that does not love themselves at the moment, or have always found it hard to love yourself, then you are not looking in the right place.
Instead of looking at what you feel is not right about yourself, focus on your heart and your soul and start to see what everyone else sees.
Treat yourself with the love and kindness you give to others. As you are amazing just the way you are!
