Every morning we all make a decision on how we feel, whether this is a conscious or an automatic unconscious decision. Unfortunately most of us do not think about it and we let the events of yesterday, last week, month, or even year dictate how we feel in that moment and for the rest of the day.
I hear you say, what about hating my job, Covid-19 or some other issue going on? Of course we all have to deal with hard times in our lives, and at the moment life is harder for a lot of people.
However, you do not have to let life dictate how you feel. We all know people that look like they swan through life without a care in the world, then you find out the problems and issues they have been dealing with. They have just chosen to deal with what life has thrown their way and be as happy as they can under the circumstances.
I know it is not realistic to be happy everyday and all day. However, we can choose every morning that we will start from a happy place and make the most of our day. Remember we cannot control what is going on around us, but we can control how we feel and act.
It is better to decide how we feel rather than letting our minds go to habitual feelings and automatically be sad, angry or annoyed.
How did you decide this morning about how you are feeling today?
How about waking up tomorrow and choosing to be happy and have the best possible day you can? You might be surprised by the results!
The fear of failure is often paralysing and holds us back. Fear keeps us from living our truth and acting on new ideas.
Fear of failure is counter intuitive, as failure gives us the opportunity to learn from our mistakes and apply our learnings to something bigger and better.
If we always let the fear of failure be bigger than the opportunity to succeed, we would never grow and learn important lesson.

So many of us give up at the first hurdle when following our dreams. We believe that we can't do it or decide it's too difficult.
Just look at a few examples of what wouldn't have happened if they gave up too soon:
Jack Canfield was turned down by 144 publishers for his Chicken Soup For The Soul books. He is now worth over $20 million.
Howard Schultz was turned down by 217 banks before he got funding for Starbucks. He is now worth $4.3 billion.
Sylvester Stallone sold his dog so that he could buy food. However, deep down he knew that he could write a winning film script. Then when he was offered more money than he had ever seen for Rocky, he turned it down as he wanted to play the lead role. Even when he was broke and was told he would never act in films, he dreamed that he would be a successful actor. In the end they agreed he could play the lead role, but only if he accepted a percentage of the films royalties. By believing in his dreams Sylvester Stallone is now worth $400 million.
If you have a dream, then believe in yourself and don't listen to people who are trying to hold you back. Remember everything man-made was once someones imagination and dream. They took massive action and never gave up on their dreams.
Believe in yourself, believe in your dreams and become the person you know you can be.
At the moment we are all feeling that our lives are on hold and Covid-19 is stopping us doing the things we want to do.
Ok, we are unable to meet up with friends and family, we are not able to go out for dinner, go to the cinema or go on holiday. However, we are still able to make the most of each day and find new ways of bringing joy and happiness into our lives.
Life will always have times of hardship, sadness, restrictions and pain. These times are part of life and if we are able to learn from them and grow, we will enjoy and be grateful for the amazing times in our lives that are full of love, happiness and joy.
Focus on what you can do while in lockdown. I am seeing and hearing about so many people who are choosing to get fit, lose weight, start a small online business, find a new hobby and connect with people they have not seen for years.
You can also use this time to really connect with yourself and the special people in your life that normally we would just take for granted.
Choose joy and happiness in your life!
Tony Robbins teaches ‘Nothing in life has any meaning except the meaning you give it.’ On the surface this seems so simple, and it is. However, it’s not always easy to truly accept.
For a moment think about this… everything in the world has no happiness, joy, misery or envy! This might seem a strange statement, however this is because all emotions and meanings are what WE project onto a situation.
As difficult as this concept may be to grasp, the understanding of it is critical to live a life of true happiness and self-control. It takes discipline and mental strength to understand that nothing has meaning except for the meaning you give it. Ok, we are all influenced by the society we live in, and it is easy to feel the way we believe a situation should make us feel.
Once you accept this as true, it will mean that you will be in control of your thoughts, and your thoughts will dictate your feelings. All meaning and emotion comes from our ‘inner world’, the world of beliefs, thoughts and feelings. As the saying goes ‘ happiness is an inside job’.
Our ‘outer world’ is the world of situations, experiences and material items. It is very easy to be caught up in how other people act and feel, especially in highly emotive national or worldwide events, like Covid-19.
We would all be happier and more fulfilled in life if we focused on what we could do, instead of what we can’t do. Also remembering that how we see the world is a direct reflection of the meaning we give it.
It is your inner world that creates meaning for your outer world. When you come to master this you will be in complete control of your own experiences, results and destiny.
